Why Pilates + Strength Training = The Align Method
At Align, we don’t believe in choosing between Pilates or strength training—you need both. Science backs it, and longevity depends on it.
Pilates builds the foundation: posture, alignment, joint integrity, core control, and nervous-system awareness. It improves movement efficiency, reduces injury risk, and trains your body to move well.
Strength training builds capacity: muscle mass, bone density, metabolic health, and resilience as we age. After age 30, we naturally lose muscle and bone each decade—unless we actively train against it.
Research consistently shows that combining resistance training with mobility-focused movement improves balance, reduces falls, supports joint health, and increases lifespan and healthspan. Translation: you stay strong, mobile, and independent longer.
That’s why our method integrates intentional Pilates with smart strength training—and why our packages are interchangeable. Your body doesn’t live in silos, and neither should your training.

Dani is amazing. I started with her at 4 months pregnant and worked with her up until the week I delivered. Had a super smooth (and quick!) delivery and bounced back really quickly. One year post-delivery, Dani continues to customize our workouts to help me progress where I need to most. She is so knowledgeable and creative…no workout is ever the same, keeping it super dynamic. Highly recommend!

Prior to going to Align Pilates I had not used a reformer. Danielle immediately made me feel comfortable and was very thorough in teaching me how to use it. She was extremely knowledgeable about my misalignment and how to best address it. She curated a plan to focus on my specific needs which led to me not only feeling more confident using the reformer but, ultimately stronger overall. I am immensely pleased with my progress and will continue to train at Align. Danielle is a wonderful instructor and I highly recommend training with her and Align Pilates.
